The primary sponsor of Senate Bill 1070, Senator Pearce has served in the state Senate since 2009, and prior to that was in the state House of Representatives from 2001 to 2008. Before his election to the legislature, he served as Chief Deputy, Maricopa County Sheriff ’s Office; a pro-tem judge for Maricopa County Justice Courts; and as Director of both the Motor Vehicle Division and Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. Senator Pearce, a native Arizonan, will speak on the legislative process and current issues.
